E-Squared Martial Arts was founded in 2022 by Bishop and Rhiannon. Before this, the school was run under the name Excel Academy of Tae Kwon Do Brodhead by Rhiannon from 2015-2022.
The name E-Squared is a tribute to the Tae Kwon Do schools Rhiannon and Bishop trained at: Excel Academy and Elite Tae Kwon Do.

Rhiannon Yoder (formerly Keen)
Co-Founder & Head InstructorMiss Rhiannon started her martial arts journey when she was 6 years old. From the very first class she tried, she knew this was the sport for her. Miss Rhiannon has been teaching for over 10 years.
Bishop Yoder
Co-Founder & Head InstructorMr. Yoder started Tae Kwon Do at age 7. He has trained diligently in Traditional ITF Tae Kwon Do. He has been assistant teaching since 2011 and has been a head instructor since 2022.
About Miss Rhiannon
Miss Rhiannon started her martial arts journey when she was 6 years old. From the very first class she tried, she knew this was the sport for her. Miss Rhiannon has primarily trained in creative/sport Tae Kwon Do , but has been learning more Traditional ITF since starting a school with Mr. Yoder.
Miss Rhiannon has been teaching for over 10 years. She began helping out in classes at her instructor’s school in 2012, and by 2015, she was asked to take over the Brodhead location. At just 14 years old, Miss Rhiannon began teaching independently.
Miss Rhiannon continued her training in Rockford and Roscoe, IL at Excel Academy and participated in tournaments across the country. The furthest she has traveled for a tournament so far is Las Vegas, NV.
Miss Rhiannon’s favorite part of Tae Kwon Do is point fighting, but she appreciates all aspects of the art. Miss Rhiannon continues to train with her instructor as well and attends seminars and spar days locally.
About Mr. Yoder
Mr. Yoder started Tae Kwon Do at age 7. He has trained diligently in Traditional ITF Tae Kwon Do. He has been assistant teaching since 2011 and has been a head instructor since 2022.
Mr. Yoder was an assistant instructor at Elite for 7 years and began helping out at Miss Rhiannon’s school in 2021. Mr. Yoder and Miss Rhiannon realized that together they brought a unique and well-rounded approach to Tae Kwon Do and decided to continue teaching together and open a school together.
Mr. Yoder has been competing locally and at the National level for over 15 years. The furthest he has traveled for a tournament was the UTA Nationals in Louisiana (and his team brought home the win!).
Mr. Yoder loves point sparring and ITF forms. He also really enjoys teaching self-defense and Hapkido techniques. Mr. Yoder is always expanding his knowledge by attending martial arts seminars and events, as well as training with his instructor.
